personalized counseling & psychotherapy for clarity, resilience, and well-being

Healing begins with understanding, and growth begins with courage.

What is Psychotherapy?

Counseling and psychotherapy give you a safe place to talk openly about your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. In our work together, we take time to understand what may be keeping you stuck, explore new perspectives, and build coping strategies that support lasting change.

My approach uses evidence-based techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), as well as psychodynamic and humanistic traditions. This means we will focus both on what you’re facing in the present and on the patterns from your past that still shape your life today. The goal is to help you move forward with more clarity, resilience, and self-understanding.

Therapy can be helpful for:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Depression and mood changes
  • Life transitions such as career shifts, relationships, or grief
  • Body Image and disordered eating
  • Self-esteem and confidence
  • Relationship and boundary concerns
  • Personal growth and finding meaning

Courage and Curiosity

The best way to develop self-esteem is to challenge yourself to get outside of your comfort zone and experiment.

HOW IT WORKS

Therapy is a collaborative process. During our sessions, we will explore your goals, look at the challenges you are facing, and build strategies that help you move forward. Sessions can take place in a comfortable office setting or through a secure video call, depending on your needs. My role is to provide support, guidance, and practical tools while creating space for reflection, growth, and self-discovery.

Everything you share in counseling is private and confidential, except in the rare cases where safety requires otherwise (such as risk of harm to yourself or others). This commitment to confidentiality helps create a safe and trusting space for our work together.

Schedule Appointment

Reach out by phone, text, or through the contact form. I will follow up with you to learn more about your needs and answer any initial questions. From there, we’ll choose a time to meet. Once your appointment is confirmed, you’ll receive any necessary paperwork and information to get started.

First Counseling Session

Our first meeting is usually a little longer than the rest. It gives us time to get to know each other, review your history and goals, and discuss what you’d like to focus on in therapy. Whether we meet in person or by video call, this session sets the foundation for our work together and helps us decide on a plan moving forward.

On-Going Sessions/Support

Follow-up sessions are typically 45–50 minutes. In these meetings, we’ll build on what we discussed, explore new insights, and practice strategies that support your well-being. We will check in on your progress and adjust as needed so therapy continues to meet your goals. Many clients find that the skills they learn carry over into daily life long after sessions have ended.

Policies and Procedures for Counseling

Here are some frequently asked questions about our services

How long is a counseling session and what is the fee?

The first session (called the intake session) is usually a little over an hour. We will review your forms, our policies, and get your background. Follow-up sessions are usually 45–50 minutes. The fee is confirmed when we schedule your appointment. Longer sessions may be available if needed.

What forms of payment do you take?

Payment is due at the time of each session. I accept credit cards, debit cards, and HSA/FSA cards. there is a 3.5% transaction fee for these purchases. You may also pay by Venmo or Paypal for no additional fee.

What if I need to cancel a session?

Please give at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations or missed sessions are charged the full session fee, except in cases of emergency.

Is everything we talk about confidential?

Yes. What you share in counseling is private and confidential. The only exceptions are when safety is a concern (for example, risk of harm to yourself or others, or suspected abuse of a child, elder, or vulnerable adult) or if required by law. You may need to sign a release of information for me to be able to talk to any other medical provider or family member.

Do you accept insurance?

At this time, I am considered an out-of-network provider. I do not bill insurance directly, but I can provide a receipt (sometimes called a “superbill”) that you may submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

What paperwork do I need to complete before my first session?

Before your first session, you’ll be asked to complete a client information form and an informed consent document. These forms explain important policies, outline confidentiality, and give me helpful background information so we can make the most of our time together.
